Boldin iffy for Saturday's game
Jan 05, 9:38 AM Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin is looking pretty questionable for Saturday's Divisional round playoff game against the Panthers because of a strained hamstring. Boldin suffered the injury while scoring a 71-yard touchdown against the Falcons in their Wild Card victory this past Saturday.
Fantasy Spin: Boldin has shown a lot of toughness this season, so it is too early to rule him out. That said, he has also displayed quite a penchant for missing games with injuries so we will have to see how much, or even if, he practices this week. View original story

Tomlinson's status in doubt
Jan 05, 9:30 AM Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson isn't saying much about his groin injury, but what little he is saying is troubling. "I'm worried about my health. I'm very concerned," Tomlinson told ESPN.com following their Wild Card win over the Colts. Tomlinson, who reportedly has a detached tendon in his groin area, was unable to play in the second half of their first-round playoff victory.
Fantasy Spin: Tomlinson's status for their Divisional round playoff game against the Steelers this weekend is very much up in the air. Suffice it to say, he does not have a good matchup against the No. 1 defense to begin with, and even though he may try to play again expectations should be tempered. Look for Darren Sproles to carry the bulk of the load for as long as he can hold up. View original story

Vikings Inactives
Jan 04, 2:24 PM The Vikings have declared the following players inactive for today's game against the Eagles: DT Pat Williams, DE Ray Edwards, TE Garrett Mills, LB Dontarrious Thomas, T Marcus Johnson, KR Darius Reynaud, DT Letroy Guion, and QB John David Booty (3rd QB).
Fantasy Spin: The Vikings top-ranked run defense will be without half of their starting defensive line, including the Pro Bowler, Williams who is still recovering from a broken right scapula. This is obviously bad news for the Purple. Brian Robison will start at end in place of Edwards and Fred Evans will start in place of Williams for the third game in a row. Tomlinson has detached groin tendon
Jan 03, 2:29 PM Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson has a detached tendon that connects one of his adductor (groin) muscles to his pubic bone, according to ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen. Tomlinson is a game-time decision for today's game against the Colts, but will reportedly try to play through the injury.
Fantasy Spin: Obviously, Tomlinson is a very risky play for those in fantasy playoff leagues. This is an injury that may only get better with surgery. Move Darren Sproles up in value for the playoffs, as he could wind up taking a majority of the carries in today's game. View original story

Cowher spurns Jets over Favre?
Dec 31, 12:35 PM The New York Post reports that ex-Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher rejected overtures from the New York Jets because he did not want Brett Favre as his quarterback.
Fantasy Spin: There seems to be something rotten in the Big Apple. There appears to be a lot of conflicting reports about Cowher and the Jets, and our best guess is Cowher is not planning to coach for anyone barring a mountain of money from the right team until 2010. This all may be a Jets PR campaign to convince fans they tried to get him. View original story

Rogers likely out in Washington
Dec 31, 9:25 AM The Washington Post reports that team sources indicate that cornerback Carlos Rogers is likely to be traded in the offseason, as the team is apparently preparing to go with Deangelo Hall and Shawn Springs as their cornerbacks in 2009.
Fantasy Spin: Rogers is a solid, consistent cover corner, but does not have the big play ability of Hall. Rogers should have a lot of interested suitors, and the Redskins may regret going with Hall if but for the fact he is vulnerable to being beat deep downfield. View original story

Dec 30, 11:52 PM TMZ reports that Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was served with a restraining order, requiring him to stay away from the mother of his child.
Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald allegedly knocked his child's mother around a room and pulled her hair out last October after she started a physical altercation with him. This could prove to be a distraction for the team as they enter the postseason. View original story
